The Straight is a modern take on our original Standard straight leg but tapers from the knee down. Raw Indigo is a dark shade denim that does not get washed, hence it's name. We recommend washing your Raw Selvage denim after approximately 6 months of wear.
Our selvage denim is made on old-style shuttle looms by denim craftsman. The process is slower, but the denim is softer and more durable than modern production. Our selvage denim is identified by our iconic red and yellow label color woven into the selvage edges. We use rich indigo dyes to ensure the best color, which may wear off, so please take extra care around lighter items.

A great lightweight raw jean

Comments about 7 For All Mankind The Straight in Raw Indigo Selvage with Seamed Back Pockets & Coin Pocket Detail:
This is a great jean with a pretty slim leg (just a bit above the slimmy fit) and a mature indigo denim. I haven't owned them long enough for them to fade, yet, but I'm sure they will look fantastic once they do. The fabric is a fairly lightweight (11oz) italian denim, which I really like (though some people won't). I buy 7s because they're comfortable and was afraid that their raw selvage line would be too stiff, but I'm happy to report they're not. There are some great details like the red chain stitching on the hem, the selvage coin pocket, the two-toned yellow / gold stitching on the fly, pockets & belt loops. Another detail I like is that it doesn't have the (IMO) flashy 7 stitch on the pocket. My only complaint is that the belt loops do not feel solid and I'm afraid that, over time, they will begin to separate from the jean. All in all an awesome investment that will be my go-to pair of jeans for years to come.
